bioSOILUTIONS is a Horizon Europe innovation project that strives to tackle soil degradation. The focus lies in optimising four different biowaste valorisation routes to develop advanced soil improvers.
SAV participates in the project as coordinator. Furthermore, SAV will produce animal blood hydrolysate to design novel soil improvers. SAV participates also in the end-user validation of the soil improvers in real enviroments.

By working directly with stakeholders in real settings, bioSOILUTIONS Living Labs will demonstrate the effectiveness of at least five bio-waste soil improvers in soil recovery as a sustainable and cost-effective alternative to synthetic products, in line with current EU priorities. bioSOILUTIONS living labs will invite stakeholders to participate in critical project activities such as soil health priorities identification, design thinking based on real user’s needs, testing and validation in real conditions, circular business co-creation and adoption of bio-waste soil improvers by entrepreneurs and end-users.
